The Weapon Or The Warrior?

Whenever someone gets worked up about their personal safety, the first thing they do is arm themselves. Frankly, this isn’t a bad thing since firearms are one of those things that if you need, nothing else will replace.

However, most of those folks tend to just go to the range every so often, pop off a few rounds, and then call it a day. While I’ve already noted that’s not the best way to do things, it’s simply what I see from most gun owners.

But here’s the important thing, something I’ve noticed through my work, and that whether it’s about the weapon or the warrior…and I’m not just talking about violent encounters, either, but life in general.

Tactical Tuesday: Hardening Your Home

I tend to be a slight bit paranoid. I’m a political writer in a politically charged climate. I’ve had people threaten my safety from my own side of the political aisle, much less people from the other side.

Because of that, I tend to think a lot about bad things happening.

However, most folks don’t piss off the number of people I do on a regular basis. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t take some simple precautions to harden their home and make it a little harder for the bad people of the world to get into.

Tactical Tuesday: Selecting Your First Handgun

In an effort to both maintain some regularity on this site as well as keep to the mission of the blog and it not just become a generic fitness site, I’ve decided to add a few regular features. Tactical Tuesday will be the day I spend a bit more time talking about the more overt warrior-like aspects of embracing warrior heritage and such.

I’m a gun writer. It’s what I do when I’m not writing about stuff here. It’s how I pay my bills and stuff. Because of that, sometimes I have friends who ask my advice on guns.

Can’t imagine why.

No, seriously. I can’t.

You see, while I write about guns, I tend to focus on the political side of things because I know that better. I’m somewhat knowledgeable on guns, but I’m not an expert by any stretch.

That said, there are a few points that I do have strong opinions on, so I might as well codify them here.
